★ Description

Swaying, moving, beautifully catching the light—

A little extra twinkle to make your avatar shine.

"Additional Highlights" is an accessory asset designed specifically for VRChat.

It fully supports Modular Avatar, allowing you to seamlessly install it onto your avatar with ease.

Through the in-game Expressions Menu, you can switch between 11 different highlight styles and customize them to any color you like.

The highlights can be toggled ON/OFF at any time, and you can also adjust their animations and thickness.

Why not add a small, charming accent to your avatar's?

The following list includes avatars for which pre-adjusted data is already included.

If you use these avatars, we recommend using the dedicated sets found in the "AvatarSetup" folder.

  • Nemo(Bodyset2)
  • Rinasciita

★ Product Contents

  • File: .unitypackage

Specs:

  • Polygon Count: △7,100 (Total combined for all 11 styles)
  • Parameter Usage: 21 bits

★ Setup Guide

[Project Preparation]

  • Install the VRChat Creator Companion (VCC). Click "Create New Project," select the "Avatar" template, and create a new project (skip this step if you already have one).
  • Click "Manage Project" for your created project in VCC, and install "VRChatSDK" and "lilToon" from the Search Packages bar.
  • If you cannot find them, search for their individual official pages to find the latest installation instructions and follow them carefully.
  • Open the Unity project once the packages are fully installed.

[Importing Data]

  • Drag and drop your own avatar data into your Unity project window to import it.
  • Drag and drop the downloaded ".unitypackage" file for this asset into the same window.
  • Ensure every single file is checked in the Unity Import window, then click "Import." Verify that the new asset folder has been created.
  • Open the folder labeled "AvatarSetup", navigate to one of the specific avatar folders inside, and select the Prefab of your choice to add it.

[Fitting the Asset via Modular Avatar (MA)]

  • Drag and drop your base avatar data into the "Hierarchy" window to place it in the Scene.
  • Drag and drop the MA-compatible Prefab data directly into your avatar's Root object (the top-level parent object of your avatar).

[Item Placement & Setup]

  • If you are using an unsupported avatar, you may need to manually adjust the position of the item. If you do not own any of the specific avatars listed in "AvatarSetup", select any available avatar Prefab from that folder and add it to your avatar.
  • Expand the game object named "Transform", and adjust its position or rotation values within the "Transform" component in the Inspector window.
  • Enter Play Mode to test the avatar. If the highlights move correctly without looking out of place, the setup is complete. Re-adjust the values if you notice any clipping or positioning issues.

[Adjusting Asset Size (Scale)]

  • Global Adjustment: Expand the asset hierarchy, select the game object named "Transform", and modify the "Scale" values within the "Transform" component in the Inspector window.
  • Individual Adjustment: Expand the "Highlights" game object, select each sub-object starting with "PAdH_", and change their respective Transform values to adjust each highlight type independently.

[Setting to Hidden by Default (ON/OFF Initialization)]

  • If you want the highlights to be hidden by default upon uploading, expand the asset hierarchy and select the game object named "Transform".
  • Uncheck the active box at the very top of the Inspector window to disable it (do not hide parts using the visibility icon in the Hierarchy window, as this will not apply to the built avatar).
  • It will still function perfectly in-game when you activate it through the Expressions Menu during playtime.

[Uploading Your Avatar]

  • Press the Play button at the top of the Unity Editor. Use the Gizmos to move the avatar or open GestureManager to verify that the items fit and move correctly.
  • If everything looks correct, open the VRChat SDK from the top toolbar to upload your avatar. (If any warnings appear, clicking the provided "FIX" button will resolve most issues automatically).
  • Upload complete! Launch VRChat and enjoy!

[Optimizing File Size & Performance (Deleting Unused Parts)]

  • The visual meshes for individual highlight styles are located inside the "Highlights" game object (under "PAdH_AdditionalHighligt"). To reduce your avatar's performance rank and file size, you can permanently delete any unused sub-parts from this folder.

★ Troubleshooting

Below are the items you should check if you encounter any issues.

  • Ensure your project is running on Unity version 2022.3.22f1. Please verify that your version matches.
  • If the material appears completely bright pink, you need to install the “lilToon” shader.
  • An active installation of the VRChat SDK is required for uploading.
  • Errors may occur if the VRChat SDK or Modular Avatar is out of date. Please try updating them via the VCC.
  • Do not change the hierarchy or names within the Prefab, as modifying internal configurations may cause the mechanics to malfunction.
  • There is a strict limit to the number of avatar expression parameters that can be used in VRChat, so please check that you are not exceeding this capacity.
  • If the gimmick's contact detection does not work in-game, ensure that "Allow Avatar Contact" is enabled in your VRChat interaction settings.
  • If unexpected errors occur, there may be a conflict with another asset. Try testing this asset on a completely clean, un-modified base avatar to see if it functions correctly.
