★ Description

I gently place my hand upon the endless flow of time.

Measuring the time that passes, waiting for the time that approaches.

I even find myself thinking, "What if I could pause the time I spend with you?"

—Now, I hear the sound of memories being engraved.

How many more seconds will I be able to share the same "time" with you?

"Stopwatch And Timer" is an asset intended for use in VRChat.

It is compatible with "Modular Avatar", allowing you to easily attach it to your avatar.

It features stopwatch and timer functions, enabling you to share the same time with others.

Please use it for work, studying, or events.

★ Setup Guide

Project Preparation

  1. Install "VRChat Creator Companion" (VCC). Click "Create New Project," select the "Avatar" template, and create a new project. (Skip this step if you already have an active project).
  2. Open the project settings by clicking "Manage Project" in VCC. Use the package search bar to locate and install "VRChatSDK" and "lilToon".
  3. If any package cannot be found via search, look up its individual page to find the latest installation instructions and follow them carefully.
  4. Launch the project once all packages are installed.

Importing Data

  1. Drag and drop your base avatar data into your Unity project window to import it.
  2. Drag and drop the downloaded ".unitypackage" file for this asset into the same Unity Project window.
  3. Ensure every single file is checked in the import window, then click "Import." Verify that the new folder has been created.
  4. Open the folder named "AvatarSetup". Navigate to any of the avatar folders inside, select your preferred Prefab, and add it to your avatar.

Fitting the Asset via Modular Avatar (MA)

  1. Place your avatar data into the "Hierarchy" window to make it appear in the Scene view.
  2. Drag and drop the MA-compatible Prefab data directly into your avatar's "Root" object.

Item Placement and Setup

  1. If you are using an unsupported avatar, you may need to adjust the position of the item. If you do not have the specific avatar folder inside "AvatarSetup", select any available avatar Prefab and add it to your avatar.
  2. Expand the hierarchy of the added asset, and open all sub-layers beneath the object named "ConstPos".
  3. The item will move to the position of the object named "Target_". Adjust this object until the position looks natural. The default setting is configured to the left hand, so it is recommended to start adjusting from the left hand.
  4. To adjust other positions, open the object named "MA_Item" and locate the component named "VRC Parent Constraint". You will change its values to move the item.
  5. Check the "Element" fields under "Sources". Set the "Weight" value to "1" for only one position that you have not finished adjusting yet, and set all other positions to "0". Verify that the item moves to the location that is set to "1".
  6. Move the position adjustment objects mentioned earlier to set the item's location. Repeat this process until all positions are configured.
  7. Enter Play Mode to test the avatar movements. If the item functions correctly and looks natural, the setup is complete. Re-adjust the values if you notice any issues.

Adjusting Asset Size (Scale)

  1. Select the game object named "Transform" located under the asset hierarchy.
  2. Change the values in the "Scale" field within the "Transform" component in the Inspector window.

Setting to Hidden by Default (ON/OFF Initialization)

  1. If you want the item to be hidden by default upon uploading, expand the asset hierarchy added to your avatar and turn off the game object named "MA_Item". (Operate the active checkbox at the top of the Inspector window, not the visibility icon in the Hierarchy window).
  2. The asset will function correctly in-game when you activate it through the Expressions Menu.

Uploading Your Avatar

  1. Press the Play button at the top of the Unity Editor. Use the Gizmos or open "Gesture Manager" to simulate avatar movements and verify that the items fit and move correctly.
  2. If everything looks correct, open the upload interface via the top toolbar by navigating to "VRChat SDK" > "Show Control Panel". (If any warnings appear under the setup panel, clicking the provided "Fix" or "Auto Fix" buttons will resolve most issues automatically).
  3. Upload complete! Launch VRChat and enjoy your asset.

★ Known Specifications

  • Slight time desynchronization: Due to the design, it does not retrieve and synchronize a strict time clock, making it unsuitable for precise time measurement.
  • Visual glitches for other players: This can occur when animation transition timings trigger differently due to minor parameter sync delays. This is strictly a visual issue, and the synchronization of the actual time parameter should not face significant problems. However, it is structurally difficult to eliminate visual bugs entirely; switching to analog mode may help improve the appearance.
  • Desynchronization of the item placement position: A position desynchronization may occur for users who join the instance later. This can be resolved by reloading your avatar or by disabling the position lock feature.

★ Troubleshooting

  • Ensure your project is running on Unity version "2022.3.22f1". Ensure your project version matches this exactly.
  • If the material appears completely bright pink in the Scene view, the shader files are missing. Please download and re-import the "lilToon" shader.
  • An active, updated installation of the "VRChat SDK" is mandatory before attempting any avatar upload.
  • Outdated builds of the "VRChat SDK" or "Modular Avatar" can cause script compilation failure. Please verify and update both systems via the VCC.
  • Do not rename or change the hierarchical structure of any objects contained inside the default Prefabs. Modifying internal naming conventions will break the animation paths and cause the gimmick to malfunction.
  • VRChat enforces a strict limitation on the total number of synchronized expression parameters an avatar can utilize. Ensure your total parameter count does not exceed the maximum allowed capacity.
  • If the gimmick's contact detection or interaction does not work in-game, ensure that "Allow Avatar Contact" is enabled in your VRChat interaction settings.
  • If a synchronization delay occurs with the item attachment positions, please reload your avatar.
  • If unexpected errors occur, there may be a conflict with another third-party asset. Try testing this asset on a clean base avatar to isolate the issue.
