Moontails are a variant of genetically modified Viritails living on a terraformed moon that serves as a research lab and biosphere.

These creatures vary greatly between individuals, possessing traits that scientists wish to study for their own entertainment.

Viritails and Moontails are semi-open species made by PaperFen, meaning they have specific traits that need to be followed, but anyone is free to make one!

You may make or commission artwork, fursonas, and fursuits of them as long as they are not stolen, traced, or made with ai and as long as I or a moderator confirms the character.

Welcome to the world of the Viritails! Get ready for some mayhem!

V2: Moontail Overhaul!

  • Reworked the topology of the entire model
  • Model made more modular; ears, head fluff, and heel fluff have been separated from the body mesh
  • Better facial expressions and facial topology
  • Better more expressive face tracking
  • More detailed maw + throat animation prefab
  • Teeth customizability split into right and left side
  • New UVs due to new topo (Old textures will NOT work!)
  • Made seperate 4 toe and 3 toe versions
  • Added tons more customization blendshapes
  • Added new antennae type: short
  • Reworked body shape blendshapes, and added skinny and muscular shapes
  • Made blender to Unity reimporting easier by adding root bones back to the fbxs
  • General package updates, organization, and improvement
  • Removed mouth and blush materials. Blush now uses a decal
  • Updated Quest to use the new Quest materials and added a hue slider
  • Tongue and Ear puppets added
  • Removed baked in Gogo Loco so now any Gogo version should function with the package
  • A plantigrade version has been added, but it is NOT recommended.

This product is available only on Jinxxy!

  • Do not purchase this product unless you have experience using Unity and the VRChat Avatar SDK or are willing to learn how to use them.
  • This package is for VRChat and will include a basic VRM and VSF file ready for most VTubing software. (V2 of the Vtubing packs are not finalized yet!)
  • This avatar uses Poiyomi shaders, GoGo Loco, and VRCFury which are not included in the package. Download links are below!

Some disclaimers and information!

  • This model is made to be used with a digitigrade rig! A plantigrade version is now included, but imo it does not look nearly as good!
  • For some headsets, it is recommended to keep the antennae visibility OFF. The antennae get stretched on the inside of the head and can greatly obscure your vision.
  • If one or more of the materials is errored out, don't panic! Just set it back to Poiyomi toon 9, and you'll be good to go.
  • Please let me know if you find anything that looks strange, broken, or just wrong! I would love to be able to fix it if I can!

  • Make public versions of this avatar in VRChat as long as you do not remove my watermark.
  • Use the Moontail for VTubing/Streaming/YouTube/Tiktok/other social media (and tag me! I would love to see it! :D)
