Wha is Hoplite?
Basically they were the citizen militia of ancient Greek city-states like Athens and Sparta. The bought their own equipment and armor and fought in tight formations called 'phalanxes' which were basically just big spear and shield walls. The gear of hoplites varied widely but what I've made is the Corinthian Helmet and The Linothorax body armor. Less specifically, The greaves, known as knemides, the spear, dory, and the shield, aspis.
Whats on the shield?
Its a Gorgon! Blazons on shields could have had a morale effect on opposing soldiers, sorta like those illustrations on WW2 bombers. So seeing a fearsome gorgon staring back at you as you approached a battle line might have been scary. And yes, the gorgon is a gorgon-dragon XD.
Why is it Free?
Wellllll The texture isnt the greatest, and I lost the substance painter file, aaaaand I'm making a much better hoplite armor set for the origin and maybe nova right now. This is just kinda a really old outfit I made like a year or so ago that I thought I might as well share.

sorry but I kinda lost most of the sources for this as it was a while ago, and this stuff was not as well researched as some of my other things. But fear not! I'm making a more indepth armor set soon that will look more into the hoplites panoply (gear).
